Setting Up Your 12engines

Configuring DNS - Directing your domain to 12engines

If you already own a domain you can still use that domain on 12Engines. You will need to configure the DNS server to point it to your domain name (www.company.com). This can be complicated if you are not familar with DNS. The easiest option is to contact us by openning a support ticket and we will provide individual assistance

If you are familiar with DNS and do not need our help follow these instructions below. You will need to modify the domain name server and make two modifications. The A Record change will do a bare domain forward. What that means is that it will forward company.com to www.company.com. The CNAME change will point www.company.com to your new 12engines site.

A Record - company.com =>
CNAME Record - www.company.com => hosted.12engines.com

Your domain name server is typically run by the same place you register your domain name. If you do not know your DNS service, please fill out a support ticket and we will help. Note that after changing DNS it might take up to 48 hours for the DNS to propagate throughout the internet.
